The 15-time major champion will tee it up at the Hero World Challenge in the Bahamas as he plays for the first time since withdrawing during The Masters at Augusta National in April due to plantar fasciitis.
Woods, who has since undergone surgery on his right ankle and foot, is the tournament host at the Hero World Challenge, which is an unofficial event on the PGA Tour.
Viktor Hovland will be eyeing a threepeat having triumphed in 2021 and 2022 - the Norwegian finishing ahead of Scottie Scheffler on both occasions.
Hovland, Scheffler and Woods are joined in the 20-man field by Max Homa, Matt Fitzpatrick, Justin Thomas, Justin Rose, Brian Harman, Wyndham Clark, Jordan Spieth, Cameron Young, Keegan Bradley, Collin Morikawa, Tony Finau, Sam Burns, Jason Day, Sepp Straka, Will Zalatoris, Rickie Fowler and Lucas Glover.
Elsewhere this week, the ISPS HANDA Australian Open will be held at The Lakes Golf Club in Sydney, while the Investec South African Open Championship will take place at Blair Atholl Golf & Equestrian Estate in Johannesburg.
Thriston Lawrence won the South African Open Championship in 2022, while Adrian Meronk was victorious at the Australian Open, finishing five strokes clear of Adam Scott.
Brian Harman claimed victory at The Open, following on from Jon Rahm's success at The Masters, Brooks Koepka adding to his PGA Championship tally and Wyndham Clark claiming a maiden major win at the US Open.
Four of the five women's majors produced maiden major champions, with Lilia Vu coming out on top at the Chevron Championship, Ruoning Yin securing the KPMG Women's PGA Championship and Allisen Corpuz winning the US Women's Open.
Celine Boutier stormed to an impressive breakthrough success at the Evian Championship, before Vu registered a second major title after beating Englishwoman Hull to AIG Women's Open glory at Walton Heath.
